Welcome a visitor learning Japanese into your home for a short stay. Your guest attends Japanese classes with us on weekday mornings and spends the rest of their time as part of your family.
Register as a host familyWhat hosting involves
- A private room with a bed for your guest.
- Breakfast and dinner at home, and lunch on days without class.
- Including your guest in everyday family life, and an outing together on weekends.
- Stays are usually 2 weeks (up to 8 weeks).
What we pay you
¥20,000Meal allowance
Per week, flat. Covers everything your guest eats, at home or out. No receipts needed.
¥25,000Activity budget
Per week, with receipts. Entry fees, transport and activity costs for your household on outings with your guest. Unspent money is returned.
No payment is made for the room, bedding or utilities. Hosting is a cultural exchange, and the payments above cover the costs of feeding and including your guest.
Example: on an outing, bring a packed lunch or eat out — meals come from your meal allowance; tickets and transport come from the activity budget.

How it works
